A fun weekend

This weekend was a pretty great weekend. Saturday morning we decided to go to breakfast for Mothers Day. We were going to use our gift card to "The cracked egg", but decided against it because it was on the other side of town and we wanted to save gas. You know, with the gas crunch and all. So we went to I.H.O.P. but there were people waiting outside the restaurant for seats and we decided that we wanted to get a table right away, so we went next door to Denny's. Well, we waited only a few minutes and got seated. The food was good, and the service was too. Our kids on the other hand, well....they've been better. Dallin brought his book of magic tricks so he could try a disappearing salt shaker trick. That part wasn't bad yet. Then, Elsa kept leaning on the table and it was already wobbling. After the 50th time of telling her not to lean on the table and sit on her bottom. I finally told her to sit on the other side of Clint and she protested, rather loudly, and as I got up to go over to her side of the table to try to move her quietly, Dallin and Calvin dropped the salt shaker on the table, making a very loud noise. Out of the corner of my eye I saw everyone at the table next to us turn around a just stare. I was so embarrassed! I wanted to say, "Nothing to see her folks, turn around and stop staring." Actually, the words I had in mind were not that nice, but you know me I can't say anything mean, to strangers anyway. Except the rude girl at Wendy's. Hannah knows what I'm talking about. Maybe I'll tell that story later. Anyway, the rest of our meal was quiet and nice. We had a good day for the rest of the day. The boys finished their room just in time for the baseball game and carnival. Good thing too, or else they would've stayed home. We had a good time and only stayed, or rather, lasted 'til the 8th inning. That's when the girls started whining and showing us they needed to go to beddy-bye.
Then, today for Mothers day, we woke up and ate cinnamon rolls, juice, and milk. Not much, yet when you have church at 9:00 in the morning it's all you have time for. Plus, I love cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The kids each gave me a present they made in school. Dallin made flower pens in a flower pot. Calvin made a frame decorated with buttons, and a picture of him in it, Elsa painted a flower pot also and then put pretty, pink flowers in it. Then, last, but certainly not least, Abigail made me a colorful noodle necklace in nursery today. I loved everyone of my gifts and will treasure them always. I still have my noodle necklace that Dallin made me when he was in the nursery. Priceless! Clint gave me a beautiful Lai (hawaiian flower necklace) Sorry, I'm not sure how to spell it. Anyway, it was made with purple and white orchids. I wore it to church and felt very loved today. The rest of the day I sat, literally sat, around the house and watched as Clint and the boys made dinner and did the dishes for me. I also watched as the girls and Calvin made the rest of the house a mess. Oh well, I have tomorrow to clean it up. Well, that was my Mother's day this year in 2008. Here are some pictures....

Happy Belated Mother's Day Britta!
We meant to call you, I'm not sure what happened. Sounds like you had a great mother's day too. You're such a good mom! and I'm not just saying that, it totally shows. Just look at how much your kids love you!
